Northland Civil Defence and Emergency Management (CDEM) is a part of Northland Regional Council and works in partnership with local council, emergency services, iwi and other organisations with the aim of:
• Understanding Northland's hazards and risks
• Coordinating all planning activities related to hazard and emergency management
• Encouraging cooperation and joint action within the region
• Assisting communities in becoming more resilient to hazards and prepared for emergencies.
• Supporting individuals, whānau and communities during emergencies.
