Mahitahi Hauora: Primary Mental Health and Addiction Service accept referrals via General Practice, Whānau & Providers. They are available for consultations and also provide virtual sessions for clients including children/young people, LGBTIQ+, older adults and service providers.

Manaaki Kakano offer assessment, treatment and advice for all women/caregivers who have developed a mental illness during or related to the perinatal phase.

The Mental Health & Addictions Alcohol and Drug Service provides a range of consumer focussed, responsive community and inpatient alcohol and drug services, services for people with coexisting problems and for family/whānau affected by people with substance use problems. Alcohol and Drug treatment services are provided in each area in the context of the district based multidisciplinary Mental Health and Addiction Service.

The Mental Health Foundation specialises in mental health promotion to all, with a focus on the provision of information & publication of resources. Mothers Helpers mission is to prevent Perinatal (Antenatal and postnatal) depression or anxiety from occurring and reduce the impact it has on your life, your family’s life and your child’s life. They do this by providing you with support and recovery.Their PND Recovery ‘Out of the Fog’ courses are available nationwide – both online and face-to-face (depending on demand for face-to-face in that area).

Ngā Manga Pūriri (NMP) is an addiction service that offers free community based, confidential support for all addictions including problem gambling. Their Kaupapa Māori programmes are open to all ethnicities.

Northpoint Services Trust is dedicated to enabling people with a diagnosed mental illness or disability to experience a better life; empowering them to live and participate, to the best of their ability, in the community whilst experiencing a mental illness or a disability. They support their tangata whaiora in their journey of Education, Participation and Inclusion. Northpoint is where tangata whaiora can be themselves, treated with respect and valued.

All members of NZDF and the Defence community can contact 0800 NZDF4U or text 8881 for 24/7 confidential support which includes both telephone and face-to-face support. This includes Regular Force, Civilians, Reserve Force, families and veterans. You can call about any issue you want help with - this can include anything from general stress, depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, financial worries, to post-deployment problems or transitioning out of NZDF. A health professional (external to NZDF) will help direct you towards the best support for you. If it’s an emergency, please dial 111.

Pathways provides community-based mental health, addiction and wellbeing services throughout Aotearoa and are passionate about supporting people in their journey to being well. They walk alongside their tangata whai ora in their recovery journeys, harnessing the power of whānau and community to support them to achieve their goals.Pathways provide a range of support services for adults and taiohi (young people, through their youth brand, Real) around practical daily living, leading a healthy life, employment and housing.

This service provides assessment and treatment for persons aged 65 yrs+ who are experiencing an acute mental health illness or people living with dementia of any age who are experiencing significant behavioural and psychological challenges.Their service supports persons aged 65 yrs+.

Samaritans provide confidential, non‑judgemental & non‑religious support.If you are experiencing loneliness, depression, despair, distress or suicidal feelings, call their 24/7 crisis help line for support.

SPARX is therapy in a free online game format for young people who are stressed, worried, or down. It uses proven CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) techniques to teach skills for dealing with depression and anxiety in real life. SPARX was developed at the University of Auckland. It has been tested and shown to work well and now it is funded by the Ministry of Health.SPARX is aimed at teenagers, but parents and others can use it too.If you are feeling down, do get help. You can call SPARX to speak to a trained professional.

Te Awhi Whanau Charitable Trust provide community support and a full residential programme for individuals with mental illness. The services is predominantly for Māori but Non Māori can also apply. Referral via NDHB is required.

Te Mana Oranga Trust provides support to those who suffer mental health and addiction challenges in the mid and far north areas, both in a Residential setting (24hour care) and to those who live in the community. Their support also extends into the GP services through their Health Coaches and the employment sector through their Employment Coaches.Referral may be required.

Te Roopu Kimiora (TRK) provides a comprehensive Child, and Youth Mental Health Service for all: •Children and youth with serious disorders of their mental health •Other children and youth with suspected psychiatric disorders •Other children and youth with psychological disorders including severe emotional and behavioral disturbance •Children and youth with comorbid psychiatric and drug/alcohol issues, if the psychiatric issue is the primary concern. •Forensic/Youth Justice

TTTWON provide education, peer support and information to people and whānau who are experiencing mental illness and/or addiction.

Their mission is to improve the mental health of New Zealanders by removing the stigma surrounding men talking about feelings, and providing therapeutic tools for the community. Tough Talk provide short documentaries and tools focused on men’s mental wellbeing which are accessible via their website.

Tuhiata Mahiora provides mental health and addiction services to whānau in Te Taitokerau. Their goal is to increase personal growth for whānau to strengthen their belief in themselves and their abilities to make changes around their mental well-being, emotional regulation, alcohol and drug use, relationships, and social connections. Their mental health and addiction services incorporate one-to-one counselling, group therapy, whānau hui, workshops and wrap-around whānau support.

Whakamana Tangata is a peer support space, 100% led by and for those with lived experience of recovery from a mental health condition, substance use disorder, or both. All of their services and advocacy iniatives are led by those the services are intended for. Every community is unique and nobody can understand needs, culture, and nuances like members from the community itself. A peer support worker walks alongside people and provides support to others experiencing similar challenges. They provide non- clinical, strengths-based support and are “experientially credentialed” by their own recovery journey.
