This self-management programme is for people with type 2 diabetes and their whanau/support persons. There are three 2-hour sessions, either mornings or evenings. The programme covers: What is diabetes. Symptoms. Possible complications. Medications. Keeping active. Understanding lab tests. Foot care. Food choices (fats, sugars, salt, carbs). Rodney Aphasia Group offers support and friendship to people with aphasia following a stroke,of any age and culture. Our monthly meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of every month at Rotary House in Silverdale. Meetings start at 1.30pm until around 3.00pm and include afternoon tea and regular guest speakers. Meetings are informative and educational, providing members with information about resources and research related to the challenges of living with aphasia. We offer rehabilitation opportunities through professional providers.
