Overview
The Parenting Place seeks to enhance the lives of families and young people, by encouraging and strengthening parents with parenting programmes that make a difference while being accessible, fun and inspiring. The six week Toolbox parenting course is available nationally for a fee. There are four Toolbox courses to choose from - Baby and Toddler Years (0-4), Primary Years (5-9), Teenage Years (13-18) and Building Awesome Whanau (0-12). They also have a range of free resources available on their website.

Overview
Counselling: Sessions are with a fully registered/qualified counsellor. A plan will be developed to see how best to meet your needs and sessions are then offered on site on a regular basis. Cost negotiable. Social Work: We work with individuals and whanau to help them identify and prioritise needs. In partnership we develop plans and strategies which can include assistance with applications, attending family meetings or referrals to appropriate agencies. Life Skill Development: This programme can be on a 1:1 basis or as a group session run over 6 weeks. Participants will gain a better understanding of their strengths, challenges and opportunities to form new patterns of thinking and behaviour. Financial Mentoring: Our mentors work 1:1 or with a whanau or group to provide coaching. We can draw up spending and saving plans, talk to creditors and provide advocacy to government agencies.
