Confident Communication
Being s confident communicator means expressing and standing up for your own or other people's rights in a calm, honest and positive way. By being assertive you are able to get your point across in a respectful way without upsetting others.
Here are some tips for practicing confident communication:
- Make eye contact with others, and use open body language, this shows confidence.
- Be clear and concise with what you are saying, speak with clarity.
- Set boundaries. Clearly define your limits and communicate them respectfully.
- Respect the feelings and perspectives of others.
- Believe in yourself and know your worth.
- Practice saying no. Saying 'no' firmly and clearly when necessary is an important part of being assertive.
